Parking in Los Angeles is about to get more expensive after city leaders extended paid-parking hours and issued the first rate increase across thousands of metered spaces in more than a decade.
A PARKING meter in Beverly Hills. L.A. will soon make drivers pay to park Sundays in metered spaces.
Meter prices will jump by 50 cents per hour for the city's 35,000 paid spaces, with the new costs expected to be in effect by the end of the year. More than 23,600 meters have already been updated, according to the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. Prices currently range from $1 to $8.50 per hour, depending on the location.
