LLANELLI'S new mayor for 2025-26 is Councillor Andrew Bragoli, who recently retired from the town’s Tata tinplate works in Trostre after more than 40 years.

- IAN LEWIS

Mr Bragoli was born and bred in the Lliedi ward, which he represents on the town council. He was a senior union official at the tinplate works for more than 20 years, representing the 600-strong workforce.

He is the 51st town mayor, taking the reins from Councillor John Prosser.

Cllr Bragoli said: “It is a great honour to serve as town mayor - it gives me the opportunity to give something back to the town, as well as keeping active, and supporting the many organisations and charities doing such wonderful work here.”
