Goal came in Myk of time after 'incredibly poor' Blues opening

VITALII Mykolenko's stoppage time strike changed David Moyes’ team-talk and saved several teammates from being taken off.

The Blues boss said he was preparing to give his team a half-time dressing down after an opening he described as “incredibly poor”.

Mykolenko spared the blushes of those around him when his effort from the edge of the area was deflected past Leno to give Everton an undeserved leveller heading into the break.

It was a goal that burst the atmosphere inside Craven Cottage and gave Everton belief - and Moyes the opportunity to delay making changes.

That patience paid off as the Blues emerged a different side and earned a 3-1 win after goals from Michael Keane and Beto.

After the game, Moyes said: “We were incredibly poor in the first 30 minutes, it looked as if we couldn’t control it or pass it and we never really got to grips with it.
