Suspension fears subside but concern over Ndiaye

DAVID Moyes was handed good and bad news as he picked his squad from the floor after a battling win at Nottingham Forest.

- By JOE THOMAS

What was left of his severely depleted squad delivered a stunning 2-0 win at the City Ground despite the Blues boss only being able to select 11 fit outfield players with prior Premier League experience for the trip, given his concession substitute Jack Grealish would not have been picked in better circumstances due to illness.

He received a second major boost in the east Midlands as the threat of things getting worse for Brentford subsided as three of his stars avoided a booking that would have led to a one-match ban.

There are new fitness concerns, however, with Everton now sweating over the condition of Iliman Ndiaye.

James Garner, James Tarkowski and Vitalii Mykolenko each started Tuesday night's game with four bookings for the season.
