CROSBY'S CALL FOR ROVERS TO KEEP HEADS FOR VISIT OF CREWE ALEX

- By OWEN LINNETT

TRANMERE Rovers manager Andy Crosby has urged his team to stay humble ahead of today's League Two fixture against Crewe Alexandra, where the Wirral side have an opportunity to make it four wins in their previous five matches.

Rovers claimed a 3-0 victory over Barrow on Tuesday night thanks to a stunning Charlie Whitaker free kick and penalties from Joe Ironside and Kristian Dennis.

Their midweek win leaves the Super Whites just four points off the playoffs, with Saturday's fixture presenting a chance to leapfrog Crewe in the current standings and move further up the table.

However, Crosby is urging his players to maintain humility and continue doing what they have been during a four-game unbeaten run in the league.

He said: “It feels like there is a different energy around the place and obviously winning games helps that. Sometimes it is the catalyst of change and sometimes other things are happening behind that scenes that cause that ripple effect.
