School closes after sudden passing of much-loved teacher

A LIVERPOOL school was closed to hundreds of pupils yesterday after the death of one of its teachers.

Jonathan Scott, a teacher at Archbishop Beck Catholic College in Aintree, died yesterday, according to the school’s headteacher Paul Stirling.

Jonathan is listed on the school’s website as an English teacher and an assistant progress manager for year 7 pupils.

He died late on Sunday night, according to a statement on the school’s website.

Due to this, the school was only open to pupils in year 11, 12 and 13 from 9.30am to allow people to grieve and process the teacher's death.

All other pupils were not required to attend.

Anyone who had childcare issues was asked to contact the school directly.
