CITY WOMAN STRANDED IN THE US AFTER SHOCK CANCER DIAGNOSIS

A WOMAN who almost died after suffering a heart attack while on holiday in New York now finds herself stranded 3,300 miles from home amid claims her medical flight home was cancelled mere hours before takeoff.

Dorota Arodz, from Walton, was on holiday in Queens when she had a heart attack in her hotel room and was rushed to hospital on May 21. The 41-year-old was resuscitated but fell into a coma as she struggled to breathe. When doctors attempted to inset a tracheotomy tube into her throat to assist with her breathing, they found something was seriously wrong.

Dorota's friend Iwona Kaszuwara, 45, said: “She was just waking up when she couldn’t breathe. They called an ambulance, and her heart stopped for seven minutes. They took her straight to the hospital, they connected her to oxygen because she couldn't breathe.
