Garner hoping to catch Tuchel's eye

JAMES Garner is hoping his early season form for Everton will earn him a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad.

The 24-year-old has impressed in a number of positions in his side's opening five games of the season.

Garner is no stranger to representing his country, as he was a member of Lee Carsley's victorious European Under-21 Championship-winning squad back in 2023.

And he believes he is capable of stepping up to Tuchel's senior squad with the World Cup less than a year away.

“It's been a good start to the season, but I'm focused on keeping it going for a full season,” he told the club's official matchday programme.

“As I say, the past few seasons have been up and down for me. I want to stay fit, first and foremost, and I want to play as much as I can, have a good season for the club and hopefully get recognised by England at some point, too.
