TRAFFIC congestion and flooding are two of the main concerns raised by residents if a 900-home development were to go ahead.

Applicant Mulberry Strategic Land Ltd has put forward the plans for land south of Uppingham Road in Bushby.

The outline application has been submitted to Harborough District Council for consideration.

Alongside the 900 homes, plans include a primary school and a centre.

Consultation is now open on the plans, with six objections raised to date. Other concerns raised by residents include the impact on local services, loss of privacy and loss of countryside, alongside fears regarding pollution and noise.

Documents note the size of the site is 64.71 hectares. Previous use of the area is listed as agricultural, however plans note this use stopped in October.
