Riders legend's helping hand to hoops hopefuls

A LEICESTER Riders legend is helping to give youngsters the chance to follow in his sporting footsteps.
Former captain Conner Washington is leading a new community basketball initiative organised by the club’s charitable arm Leicester Riders Foundation.
The launch of Leicester Riders Satellite Clubs sees six community hubs being created to introduce young people to basketball through structured sessions in a positive, fun, and supportive environment.
Players aged from nine to 16 will learn the game while gaining essential life skills including self-discipline, resilience and teamwork.
The sessions will be led by Leicester Riders coaches and volunteers, and will take place each week at the club's home, Mattioli Arena, in Leicester, as well as The Cedars Academy, Birstall; Manor High School, Oadby; Beauchamp College, Oadby; Hastings High School, Hinckley and The Castle Rock School, Coalville.
Further satellite club hubs will be launched this season.
