Residents launch wholefoods grocery cooperative

A GROUP of Leicester residents are launching a worker-owned, plant-based wholefoods grocery cooperative - and are looking for people to get involved.

The unnamed venture is in its feasibility stage, and aims to offer organic fruit and vegetables, everyday essentials, low-waste bulk buying, and other organic and locally sourced products.

A spokesman said: "While Leicester has other wholefood shops, this one will be the only worker-owned wholefoods grocery in the city - guided by principles of transparency, fair pay, and democratic decision-making by its worker-members."
