Parling’s men cannot afford to fluff their lines

AFTER the autumn internationals, and a win for Tigers in the PREM Cup against East Midlands rivals Northampton, it’s a return to PREM action with the long trip up to Newcastle.

Thus far tonight's “nouveau riche” opponents have still only won two games, both in the cup, in spite of the takeover by Red Bull that has probably made the organisation the safest financially in the competition.

However, the takeover occurred too late to massively influence recruitment for this season, which means that the men from the North East are still largely the whipping boys in the division.

Leicester already have one win against the Kingston Park outfit this season, albeit in the cup, although that might be characterised as fortunate, winning with an interception try in what might have been one of the worst games of rugby ever!
