Opposition growing to for unauthorised work

SCORES of people have objected to a development that has taken place next to a county park.

Over the August bank holiday weekend, work took place on a site for which an application had only been submitted on the Friday.

A second, now retrospective application, has been lodged for work that has already taken place on land next to Bouskell Park, in Blaby.

The applicant, a Mr McDonagh, has submitted the bid to Blaby District Council following unauthorised activity that took place on the site over the bank holiday, including “removal of hedgerow, erection of gates, laying of hardcore and the arrival of one static caravan and two touring caravans”.

So far, 170 objections to the bid have been put forward.

The council does not allow the public or press to read the details of objections, so they cannot be reported by the Mercury.
