MANAGER REFERENCES 'END OF THE WORLD' MENTALITY FROM FANS - BUT THERE ARE CLEAR REASONS TO EXPLAIN IT

- By JORDAN BLACKWELL

FOR the fifth home game in a row, Leicester City lost the second half 1-0. Thankfully, this time, they had built up enough of a first-half advantage that they came away with the three points.

Not helped by conceding so soon after the interval, there was an audibly nervous crowd at the King Power Stadium.

Who can blame them, really?

From last December through to April, City lost nine King Power games in a row without scoring, the worst run of home form in English topflight history.

Had City failed to beat Stoke, it would have been another six consecutive home matches without a win.

Not even in the 2007-08 season, when they were relegated to League One, did they have a run that poor in the Championship.

So, for most of the past 12 months, attending matches at the King Power Stadium has not been a happy experience for supporters.

Wins have been so infrequent that fans are unsurprisingly on edge when a victory is within the team’s grasp.
