LEICESTER’S dream of a historic league and cup double continues as the Lions came out on top against Sheffield Tigers in the second leg of the Premiership playoff semifinal on Monday.
In an absorbing and dramatic contest at the Hydroscand Arena, the hosts won by 47 points to 43 to edge out the Tigers 90-89.
Sheffield began the match three points ahead from the first leg and fiercely defended their advantage. On only three occasions during the first nine races were Leicester able to edge ahead by one point on aggregate.
