Drunk thug insulted barman's 'skinny' legs before punching him, seriously injuring his face

A BARMAN suffered serious facial injuries after a drunk thug punched him in the face while he waited for a taxi.

The victim had been working a late shift at the Loughborough Arms in Baxter Gate, Loughborough, back in June. At about 3am he was sitting on a bench at a bus stop outside the pub, waiting with friends for an Uber, when Joshua Burns sat down next to him.

Burns, 34, made a comment about the victim having "skinny" legs before making derogatory comments about the man's friends, who were waiting with him.

The victim asked Burns: "Can you leave us alone?" Burns stood up, swore at the man and then punched him hard in the face, cutting him near his mouth.

The attack was seen by CCTV operators in the town and they called Leicestershire Police to attend while other pub staff helped their injured colleague back into the pub.
