Drug dealer who led police on chase starts prison term

A MEMBER of a drugs gang who was caught following a dramatic police chase has been jailed.
Connor Darwent, of Donald Cobley Close, Hinckley, was a drugs courier for the “Abs line”, operating between the West Midlands and Skegness.
He has been jailed for two years and six months after admitting conspiracy to supply class A drugs, along with dangerous driving.
A second Hinckley man, Liam Thompkins, a runner and occasional operator of the line, failed to appear at court, but the 25-year-old, of Stanley Road, was sentenced to three years and six months in his absence.
A warrant is out for his arrest.
Lincoln Crown Court heard how Darwent was caught after a police chase that ended in a farm field.
