Council ends its inquiry into where £105k went

NO DETAILS OF ALLOCATING CASH BY FORMER LEISURE CENTRE TRUST

COUNCILLORS have agreed to end an investigation into the whereabouts of £105,000, with no conclusion as to where the money went.

Harborough District Council made the decision following an investigation into Harborough District Leisure Trust Limited, which was contracted to provide leisure services between May 1, 2008 and March 31, 2019.

At the time the contract ended, the trust had £105,000 left, councillors were told.

The trust told the council the money had been given to 22 community groups. The council wrote to the former trustees to request further information, but no response was received.
