STOKE D'Abernon lost a high-scoring Surrey Championship Division Two game by 35 runs against Old Wimbledonians on Saturday.

Stoke had to muddle though some bowling combinations after injury to their opening bowler in the early stages.

Stoke D'Abernon did have their hosts 115-4 at one stage; but Tim Sealy-Fisher made 43, the entrée for debutant Matthew Somaru to slug 94 off 89 to leave Stoke chasing an even 300.

Max Subba Row got through a full ten over allocation for the first time since May 2021 and took 4-45; Declan Ritchie took a brace, Jase Earl one, and Will Frost his 399th career wicket with his 13407th delivery for the club.

Stoke made a good first of the chase with Ian Hopton, pressed back into opening duties with a couple missing, made a run-a-ball 54.

Billy Zander and Jake Raffaelli played nicely; but substance to the total was provided by Ritchie who made 93 from 79.
