Look back at city's fascinating history with free open days

Heritage Open Days has returned to Preston with scores of events across the city and surrounding areas.

This annual initiative offers a chance to visit local buildings, landmarks, and natural spaces that are usually closed to the public - all at no cost.

Here are some of the events happening on Saturday:

St Michael and All Angels, Ashton

Discover the architecture of this landmark Preston church, built by renowned Lancaster architects, Austin and Paley. Follow a self-guided tour of the building, enjoy the farmers' market in the church grounds, and a weekend of music in church.
