Elections in city will be well run say council bosses
Lancashire Evening Post
|February 23, 2026
A Lancashire council whose previously cancelled local election was suddenly put back on the calendar this week said it is confident it can still deliver a well-run contest.
Preston City Council is among the seven local authorities in the county that will now have to stage votes in May after the government initially called them off last month.
The council told the Lancashire Post that election planning was already at an advanced stage and had not completely halted even after the polls appeared to have been scrapped.
