Construction under way on full replacement of high school

Penwortham Girls' High School is looking forward a new chapter as construction continues on a brand-new school.

The project, part of the Department for Education's national School Rebuilding Programme, will replace the current school, which was built in 1954 with a sustainable, purpose-built environment designed for 'modern learning'.

The three-storey, L-shaped building will feature a sports hall, activity studios, dining and assembly halls, bright classrooms, and a new reception area.
