|December 11, 2025
Judges' Lodgings in Lancaster is celebrating its 400th anniversary with a new ceramic project in partnership with King Street Arts.
The project tells the hidden stories of servants at the house through clay sculpture.
The museum, located in the unique Grade 1 listed house, has a series of small ceramic figures and artworks called 'Presence in Absence' on display in the historic rooms.
Each piece has been made by local women during workshops at the museum and represents the housekeepers and those in service at Lancaster's oldest Town House.
