Why Airlines Shouldn't Penalize Kashmir's Stranded Trekkers

I'm writing to share the distress faced by hundreds of Indian trekkers who had planned to explore the Kashmir trails this season.

Many of us had carefully planned these trips, some months in advance, only to see them abruptly cancelled after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

Security concerns and new restrictions have now forced trekking operators to suspend major expeditions, including the famous Kashmir Great Lakes and Tarsar Marsar routes.

In the face of such an emergency, the cancellations clearly fall under what is commonly known as force majeure—a situation beyond anyone’s control.
