Vaishno Devi Yatra Remains Suspended For Tenth Day

JAMMU: The pilgrimage to the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district continues to remain suspended for the tenth consecutive day following the devastating cloudburst-induced landslide that claimed 34 lives and left 20 others injured.
Despite the clearance of debris from the affected track, officials said the yatra has not been resumed so far. The administration has maintained that the suspension is purely precautionary measure to avoid any further risk to pilgrims in view of the fragile terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.
