SKIMS Launches DNB Cardiac Anesthesia Programme

Srinagar: The Sheri-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has introduced Jammu & Kashmir’s first DNB Cardiac Anesthesia programme, marking a major academic and healthcare milestone for the Union Territory.

The newly launched three-year super-speciality course—equivalent to the national DM Cardiac Anesthesia programme—positions SKIMS as the only institution in J&K offering advanced training in cardiothoracic anesthesia. The institute, already recognized for managing some of the region’s most complex and high-risk medical cases, described the development as a step toward strengthening specialized cardiac care and expanding academic capacity.
