A Timeless Teacher

As Teacher’s Day coincides with His birth, the Prophet’s life reminds Kashmir and the world that true education shapes character, justice, and compassion.

- Sahil Swe

In Srinagar, a teacher once asked her students why they respected their elders. One boy answered, “Because they know more than us.” She shook her head. “Knowledge matters,” she said, “but the way you live matters more.”

That lesson mirrors the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whose teachings continue to guide millions, 1,400 years after he walked the deserts of Arabia.

September 5 marks Teacher's Day and, in many regions, the beloved prophet's birth.

The day invites reflection on education beyond exams, classrooms, or certificates. His life itself was the lesson.

Every action, word, and choice He made served as a model for living in harmony with God, others, and the world.

Character formed the foundation of His teaching.

He greeted children warmly, respected the elderly, and treated the poor, the orphan, and strangers with dignity.
