|June 13, 2025
IT HAS been a bumper fortnight for Ashford & District Road Running Club with trips to Suffolk for the Backyard Ultra and the Isle of Wight for the running festival featuring heavily in an extravaganza of excellent performances and some extraordinarily lengthy runs
-
First off were Sinead Burns and Julius Samson in the Three Castles Ultra on Saturday, May 31. Burns covered a massive 50k in 5:36:58 whilst Samson returned in 4:36:26; a fantastic achievement on a hot day.
The following day was the turn of Allen Edwards who completed the Macknade half in a time of 1:55:00. A great return on a hilly trail run.
Meanwhile, this weekend saw Kelly Gammon travel to Suffolk for the Backyard Ultra and spend an astonishing 21 hours running 87.5 miles, an astounding achievement.
