Cops suspect Tina was murdered in shower or bath like horror movie
GARDAI suspect murderer Richard Satchwell killed his wife in the bathroom of their home, and that it involved glass shower doors.
The Irish Sunday Mirror can reveal detectives began to suspect he had somehow smashed Tina through the glass doors of a shower - or something occurred in the bath.
Their suspicions were raised when they realised he had replaced the bath with a second-hand jacuzzi - and he had taken out the standalone shower to replace it with a press after his wife was murdered in March 2017.
That suspicion tallied with the shocking discovery of glass fragments that were located in the scalp and on the torso of Tina's remains.
STRUGGLE
All of that evidence flew in the face of Satchwell's claims to gardai that his wife died after he defended himself against her when she "flew" at him with a chisel by the stairs in the living room on the ground floor.
He claimed he held his wife's dressing gown belt against her throat while she was on top of him and tried to stab him with the chisel - and that she suddenly went limp and died during the struggle.
In reality gardai do not believe any of Satchwell's account - and sources say they firmly believe the true story of exactly how Tina died has never been told.
Officers tried to ask him about his replacement of the bath and the shower during his re-arrest interview in October 2023.
The killer, a lorry driver from England, confirmed he had replaced them, but gardai did not have enough evidence to accuse him of anything further.
Another gardai theory was that Satchwell injured his wife somehow with glass from a door near the stairs of the home.
Officers photographed smashed glass at the door - but in interview he claimed it was in that state when they bought the house and he had never replaced it.
