WE'RE all going Christmas jumper crazy this year - with more of us than ever wearing a yuletide pullover.
It seems festive sweaters are still as popular as they used to be in the heyday of 1980s telly. Legendary broadcaster Gay Byrne was a pioneer on the original Late Late Toy Show on RTE.
In the 1990s and 2000s the jumpers were sneered at, with the 2001 movie Bridget Jones's Diary - in which Colin Firth wears a hideous reindeer jersey - cementing their “tackiness”.
