Behind the scenes footage showcases magical season for Cahill and Premier

- BY PADDY TIERNEY

WHAT does it take to be All-Ireland champions? It is a question many will ponder over the long winter nights as they set about reaching the pinnacle of hurling in 2026.

The current custodians of the Liam MacCarthy Cup have given a rare behind-the-scenes look into what drove them to reach the summer in 2025.

'Blue to Gold' was released on Monday, December 22 tells the tale of Tipperary’s remarkable season from also-rans in 2024 to champions this season.

Liam Cahill believes the fly-on-the-wall documentary will resonate with GAA fans and Tipperary people alike.

“It's really just something that transpired in the aftermath of the All-Ireland really,” said Cahill.

“We would have, at the start of 2025, recorded a lot of our sessions, a lot of what we'd done just to try and improve as the year went on. To look at areas that we could improve from session to session.

“I think there's some content there that will resonate with a lot of other people in the GAA community about what's required to come from a very low place to a high place in a short period of time. I just feel it's just apt after the All-Ireland.
