IRELAND is bracing for appalling weather, with significant parts of the country facing potential flooding due to heavy rainfall.
One meteorologist has cautioned that a low-pressure system is expected to move south of the country on Tuesday, bringing with it a period of grim conditions.
Alan O'Reilly, the expert behind the widely-followed Carlow Weather social media accounts, has indicated that intense rainfall will batter nearly all of Ireland, with the South and East particularly vulnerable to flooding as they bear the worst of the conditions.
