Drinks makers fear impact of EU tariffs move

IRISH whiskey and spirit producers along with Ryanair could be badly impacted by the EU decision to announce countermeasures in response to tariffs from the US.

However, Simon Harris stated it was not too late for everyone to step back from the brink and negotiate as he "wants to be able to ultimately see the countermeasures list ripped up and never come into effect, because we can get to a point of agreement".

As part of his Liberation Day worldwide tariff announcement, President Trump confirmed that a tariff of 25% would apply on all goods being exported from the EU to the United States.
