USING phones during mealtimes is the top 'tech tiff' causing rows between couples.

A study of 2,000 adults has revealed the top 10 quarrels about technology and household appliances for those in relationships.

Disagreements over the volume of music, TV or gaming are the second biggest subject of dispute.

Squabbles about leaving gadgets and chargers lying around the house came third.

Dishwasher disputes were fourth on the list, as 23% of couples bicker about the correct way to load it.

Lara Brittain, for Currys, which commissioned the research, said: "Our home tech is important to us, but people do get set in their ways including couples.

"Which can lead to the odd argument here and there.
