TADHG BEIRNE knew his Lions career was on the line ahead of Saturday's win over the Wallabies - but the Irishman delivered.
Ireland flanker Beirne was a marginal pick over Ollie Chessum then picked up the man of the match award after the 27-19 victory.
Beirne admitted he was feeling the heat after social media trolls said he and Tom Curry should not have been picked by boss Andy Farrell.
But Beirne and Curry delivered and look certainties to start Saturday's second Test in Melbourne.
