IT SEEMS strange to say it, but social media is both the best and the absolute worst thing to happen to sport since Cu Chulainn first picked up a hurley.

Here in Cork, were still bewildered by how badly the wheels came off in that second half of the All-Ireland.

Many Rebels have either stopped talking about it entirely or are pretending it just never happened: “What All-Ireland?

“Did they not cancel that this year? Look over there! Is that Elvis!?”.

But a fair few “fans” have decided that, with the entire county hurting and just wanting to move forward, what we really need are wildly malicious and made-up rumours about “what reality happened inside the dressing room!”.

Now, there's no way we should dignify any of these fever-dream stories by actually repeating them.
