Tributes for Sean after Oz sea tragedy

A 35-YEAR-OLD Irishman who lost his life in tragic circumstances in Australia has been named locally.

Sean Keaney, from Ballinagh, Co Cavan, tragically died on New Year's Eve at Whitehaven Beach near the Great Barrier Reef.

Mr Keaney was found unresponsive in the water.

“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a drowning incident in the Whitsundays yesterday [Wednesday],” said a police spokesperson.
