Tracks sound way to draw in visitors

THE North is all too familiar with grim generational troubles - ‘Give My Head Peace’ went on for 16 seasons, and still flares up to this day.

But, Our Friends In The North - as Joe Duffy called them which was only a small bit patronising - are resilient people, hardened to things like unfunny comedy.

They have, from the first outbreak of Give My Head Peace on BBC Northern Ireland in 1995 to now, put troubles aside for a common cause.

BOMBARDED

That's to tell the world - a world bombarded with stark TV images of Give My Head Peace actors trying to be funny ~ that Northern Ireland isn't rubbish.

I've been to Northern Ireland. I've seen the Butter-crane Shopping Centre, I've eaten the Paul Rankin brown bread, I know it’s not rubbish.
