THE Government is considering a US demand for a permanent American military base at Shannon Airport in return for 'going easy' on Ireland with tariffs, The Star can reveal.

We have learned that Donald Trump's officials made the suggestion as the Irish government seeks to avoid the worst economic damage from the range of taxes due to be revealed tomorrow, which Trump has dubbed 'Liberation Day'.
