O’Malley sees Ballincollig just about edging final
-
IT’S ALL about the Domino's Cup finals this weekend, with the Pat Duffy Cup and Paudie O'Connor Cup up for grabs and expert analysts Brian O'Malley and Karl Kilbride joined DECLAN KING to preview the action.
Our analysts are amongst the best in their field - and we are delighted to have them with us once again this year.
Ballincollig v Garvey's Tralee Warriors
Brian O'Malley is our regular pundit for the men’ finals here in the Irish Daily Star and while he is taking a break from Super League coaching, he is still passing on his expertise at underage at Killester.
DK: Brian, it is that time of the year once again and we are preparing for the weekend’s Domino's Cup final at the National Basketball Arena. Are we all set to go?
BOM: Absolutely - any follower of Irish basketball looks forward to this time of year! The gravity of the cup is something unique to our sport in that it holds the same - if not more prestige - as the league!
DK: The men’s decider is an all-Munster affair and a first ever final between Ballincollig and Garvey’s Tralee Warriors. This is certainly a tasty affair.
BOM: I'm really looking forward to it. They are two high-quality teams, they are well organised and well coached. It promises to be a cracking final. There’ plenty of intriguing match ups and Im sure it'll make for great TV.
DK: John Dowling’s Warriors have been around the trophy scene for the past number of years while Ciaran O’Sullivan’s Ballincollig are one of the newer additions to the silverware races.
