REPORT: POTENTIAL RISK IN 209 CAMHS CASES

A RISK of potential for harm was found in more than half of files reviewed by the investigation into North Kerry youth mental health services.

A HSE-commissioned independent report into North Kerry Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) looked at 374 files.

It found that “a risk of potential for harm” was found in 209 of them, or 55.8% - with most being of “moderate/major” level.

In 12 files, the potential for harm was considered to be considered to be major.

The report was commissioned after concerns were raised about services in the area following the 2022 Maskey Review into South Kerry CAMHS.
