United cash boast boost but debt rises to shocking €1.5bn

JIM RATCLIFFE’S brutal cost-cutting has seen Manchester United record a sharp increase in profits.

But there will question marks over whether those ruthless decisions — including axing 450 jobs — are worth the reputational damage to the club.

Accounts show United made a €37.4m operating profit for the six months to December 31, 2025, which is in stark contrast to a €4.4m loss in the same period last year.

The rise comes despite United’s men’s team being without European football this season.
