FORMER Ireland midfielder Liam Lawrence has revealed that his career was almost over before it began after an arrest led to his departure from Nottingham Forest.

Lawrence, capped 15 times for Ireland, was in the City Ground side's academy when he got into trouble with the law.

The incident led to his exit from the club at the age of 15 - and things weren't looking good for the youngster.
