Mum & son are first to Race Across World finish

CAROLINE and Tom Bridge have become the first mum and son to win Race Across the World, by the show's narrowest-ever margin.

They won by just 19 minutes, after 51 days of racing 8,700 miles across China, Nepal and India with the price of an equivalent air fare as a budget, with no bank cards or phones.

Caroline, 60, cried when they opened the book and realised they had won the £20,000 (€23,500) prize. She said: “We must never doubt ourselves again. Ever, ever, ever.”
