McEntee hits out at lesson 'misinfo'

Minister stands by updated sex ed curriculum

MINISTER Helen McEntee said there's an element of “misinformation” surrounding the new primary school curriculum.

Youngsters in fifth and sixth class will now learn about different sexual orientations, such as bisexuality and homosexuality, while also being taught about puberty.

Concerns have been raised that some of the content is not age appropriate but McEntee has said these accusations are unwarranted.

The learning material overhaul will replace the current one, which is 26 years old.
