Stach says Dom should be shoo-in for Three Lions' American mission

- BY MIKE WHALLEY

DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN would be guaranteed an England recall in the spring if Anton Stach was picking the team.

The calls for Leeds striker Calvert-Lewin to win his first international cap in more than four years could be heard long and loud from the Elland Road stands as his incredible scoring run continued with a double against Crystal Palace.

Home fans chanted “England's No.9” or they did when they weren't reworking the lyrics to Wham's Last Christmas to pledge their heart to their free-scoring centre-forward.

And club-mate Stach joined those calls as Calvert-Lewin became the first Leeds player since Mark Viduka in 2003 to score in five successive Premier League games.

The German midfielder thinks his fellow countryman Thomas Tuchel might want to take a look for the Wembley friendlies against Uruguay and Japan in March.

“Over the past few weeks he's been very important for us,” Stach said.
