Old Liveline tune creator 'sheds tear' as it's axed

ONE of the creators of the Liveline jingle said there were “tears” over the intro music being changed.

Listeners to the Radio 1 show were shocked on Monday when a new piece of music was played for Kieran Cuddihy’s debut as presenter.

The old intro comes from Over The Moors by Irish folk band Stockton's Wing whose singer Mike Hanrahan explained it’s an old Irish reel from their 1986 album Full Flight.

He said: “Having one of the tunes from the album last so long in our ears was great... we are very proud of it.”
