Jager stitched up BEFORE historic game in Castlebar

OLI JAGER knew Munster were up to the MacHale Park challenge - as he needed to get stitched up before the match even started.

Now he's hoping the Reds keep the ball rolling with this season's Champions Cup challenge on the line at La Rochelle.

The Ireland prop needed some repair work done on his nose as a result of the intense warm-up on matchday in Mayo before Munster ran out 30-24 winners to move into fifth in the URC on Saturday.

"It shows the level we were going into the game with," said Jager. "Everybody was on. I had to be the lamb to take the slaughter in the beginning! A bit of blood in the warm-up isn't too bad, it shows the boys are ready to go and be physical. It's a good way to go into it.
