BOXING COLUMN
THE island will have shows on successive weekends next month, June 21 and June 28.
The first date offers a unique joining of forces by promoters Jay Byrne and Jamie Conlan, both former fighters themselves.
They are teaming up for anine-fight card comprising emerging talent at the Devenish Complex in Belfast.
The card is made up of four bouts over six rounds and five over four, and all but one of what can be called the ‘home ' side are unbeaten.
The most experienced man in the squad, local light-middle Owen O'Neill (13-1), is returning after his 19-second stoppage against Dylan Moran last August.
He features on one of the sixrounders against Octavian Gratii.
