LEINSTER negotiated the opening European stage in beating Harlequins at the Aviva last weekend.

But did it leave a feeling that it was all a little too comfortable for the Blues in the face of traveling to Leicester Tigers this Friday?

As Robin McBryde - all too familiar with the English club and its downright competitive awkwardness as a player and coach - admits, it is an ‘experience' to play at Welford Road.

This at a time when there is a sense Tigers are on the way back thanks to a traditional house-style that’s marked by relentless war up front, specifically in the front-five, less emphasis on the backs and the knowledge that - European-wise - they see Leinster as traditional rivals.

"You've got Geoff Parling there now whos had recent experience with Australia,” notes McBryde.
